Due to a family emergency, our pastor could not make it to speak on the opening night of our Men's Retreat. Our Men's Pastor Brad White asked me to put something together for our men about the purpose in our pain. God was writing this within my heart long before this moment. God has a way of pushing us into things when he is ready for us to go, not when we are ready. I was incredibly humbled by this experience and I know this is just the beginning in what God is calling me into with everything you see here on this website. 

Shock. Pain. Grief. Why? These were the words that kept going through my mind when my husband and I received the news that our daughter-in-love, Ashley, had a terminal cancer. All we could do was sit and cry in those first few days. We questioned God, questioned the diagnosis, questioned everything including why not me? Surely if I could barter with God, He would take me instead of her so my son and grand-daughters would not have to suffer. Makes sense, right? That's a question many of us are faced with yet do not know how to handle.

Regardless of how difficult your struggle is, God can teach you that how you respond to that struggle can give others hope. So how does one go from questioning God to living a life fully loving and trusting Him? Listen to the testimony to hear how God used my daughter-in-love's illness to completely transform my life. A word of caution though as you watch this video…be prepared to laugh, cry, and be amazed at how God works in lives.

I should add that since this testimony was shared at my Church’s Women's Retreat, numerous others have come to know the Lord, hearts have been healed and changed forever! 

I was asked to present my testimony and how God had worked in my life to bring me to where I was at the time. This is what god gave me to say. It isn't my story, but his. I pray that this will allow others to learn and seek out Jesus Christ in all that they do. My wife and I always prayed that we would be willing to do whatever it takes to see those that we love, come to know and love Jesus like we do. This is a part of that process. 

Ashley decided to surprise everyone and sit down for an interview to tell people who she was and what she wanted them to know for her celebration of life. She was an inspiration to so many. She allowed me to interview her. She always hated to be in front of the camera, but she knew that this would be a powerful gift to everyone that ever took the time to watch it. She was such a blessing.
